I’m Sarah, the photographer behind Latitude 49 Photography. Based on Vancouver Island, I specialize in cinematic and romantic wedding photography that blends editorial artistry with authentic storytelling. My work captures honest emotion, natural light, and timeless connection for couples who want imagery that feels intentional and deeply personal.

The wild beauty of Vancouver Island sets the stage for love stories unlike anywhere else, and this Buttle Lake engagement session was no exception. Surrounded by waterfalls, rivers, and alpine scenery, the day unfolded as a breathtaking journey through Lupin Falls, Myra Falls, and Ralph River Campground. Each location carried its own mood, creating a gallery that felt cinematic, timeless, and deeply personal.

We started the day at Lupin Falls, nestled within the forest of Strathcona Provincial Park. The short walk to the waterfall became an experience in itself as sunlight filtered through layers of green. Among moss-covered stone and cascading water, the couple shared quiet moments that reflected the calm, grounded nature of their love.

From there, we traveled to Myra Falls, where the scenery transformed into something bold and powerful. The sound of rushing water echoed through the canyon, creating a backdrop that felt both raw and romantic. Together, we found moments of stillness amid the mist, letting the falls frame their story in pure West Coast style.

The final chapter unfolded at Ralph River Campground as golden light kissed the shoreline. The couple wandered along the water, laughing softly as the evening sun set behind the mountains. Driftwood, tall grasses, and soft reflections created the perfect stage for unguarded, heart-centered moments.

This session was more than a photoshoot—it was a journey through the heart of Vancouver Island. From the intimacy of Lupin Falls to the drama of Myra Falls and the serenity of Ralph River, every stop revealed a new layer of connection. The result is a collection that not only captures their love but also the untamed spirit of the island itself.
