I’m Sarah, the photographer behind Latitude 49 Photography. Based on Vancouver Island, I specialize in cinematic and romantic wedding photography that blends editorial artistry with authentic storytelling. My work captures honest emotion, natural light, and timeless connection for couples who want imagery that feels intentional and deeply personal.

Every love story has its own rhythm, and Kathryn and Airell’s beats in harmony with nature. Their Vancouver Island engagement session unfolded across two landscapes that mirrored their connection—a quiet forest bathed in golden light and a sandy beach where laughter echoed over the water.
We began in a peaceful forest at Seal Bay, chosen for its resemblance to Woodland Gardens where they will soon exchange vows. Sunlight filtered through the trees, wrapping them in warmth as they leaned into each other beneath the tall evergreens. It was serene, grounding, and a perfect reflection of their bond.
Kathryn and Airell met online five years ago and quickly discovered their shared love for the outdoors. Airell’s gentle embrace from behind—one of their must-have poses—captured their natural ease together. In the stillness of the woods, their love felt effortless and deeply rooted.

As the sun drifted toward the horizon, we made our way to the beach. The shift in scenery brought out their playful side; soon they were laughing, spinning, and chasing waves. The air felt lighter, the energy pure joy.
Their proposal came to mind as they stood by the water’s edge. Airell had asked Kathryn to marry him during a camping trip at Stillwater Bluffs, over a picnic overlooking the ocean. The beach felt like an echo of that moment—a continuation of their love story woven into the coastal landscape.

Throughout the evening, Kathryn and Airell’s adventurous spirits shone through every frame. They told stories of hiking, rock climbing, biking, and even skijoring with their husky. Airell confessed he sometimes bends the rules on their adventures, while Kathryn is the voice of reason who keeps them balanced—a dynamic full of humor and harmony.
One story made us all laugh: during a road trip in 2020, Airell lost his sandal in a river and dove in to retrieve it, belly-surfing through the rapids and injuring his toe in the process. It was perfectly them—spontaneous, fearless, and deeply connected.
Photographing Kathryn and Airell in these meaningful spaces was an honor. Their connection is effortless, their laughter contagious, and their love story a reflection of adventure and devotion. As their wedding day approaches, I cannot wait to document the next chapter of their journey and every new memory they’ll create together.
