Matteo and Rebecca’s story is one of serendipity, laughter, and connection. What began as an online match quickly blossomed into a love built on adventure, shared humor, and the simple joy of life together. Their Comox Valley engagement session unfolded along the coastline, surrounded by soft ocean light and the quiet beauty of nature that reflects their relationship so perfectly.
Their story began when Matteo took a leap of faith and traveled from the Lower Mainland to Mission to meet Rebecca. From that very first meeting, sparks flew. Within months, they moved in together in Courtenay, where Rebecca’s cat, Mika, welcomed Matteo into their new life. Matteo’s family embraced her wholeheartedly, and soon after, they purchased their first condo and adopted another cat, Jynx. What started as a chance meeting quickly became a home, a family, and a lifelong adventure in the making.
Matteo knew early on that Rebecca was the one. After a year together, he decided not to wait any longer. With help from his cousin, he designed a custom engagement ring, weaving family history into their story. He then recreated their first date at Porteau Cove Pier, following a stop at Britannia Mine. As the ocean stretched before them and the memories of their beginning hung in the air, he knelt down on one knee. Rebecca said yes—tears glimmering as the waves rolled softly against the pier.

Every couple has those unforgettable stories that become part of their shared legend. For Matteo and Rebecca, one involved a dinner date, a sizzling plate of fajitas, and an unexpected plumbing disaster. During an early visit to Rebecca’s mom’s home, a flooded bathroom sent water pouring into the apartment below. While Rebecca was mortified, Matteo’s laughter turned the chaos into one of their funniest memories—proof that love often shines brightest in imperfect moments.
Together, they are perfectly balanced. They share a love of water, spending their days kayaking, fishing, and swimming. They also share a love of storytelling and play—bonding over Pokémon, manga, books, and Animal Crossing. Whether they’re grabbing coffee at the Courtenay Air Park or exploring Kye Bay, their connection radiates joy. Their favorite spots—from Porteau Cove to Point Holmes—are woven into the fabric of their love story.

For their engagement session, Matteo and Rebecca wanted something real and unposed—a reflection of who they are together. Along the shoreline, the golden light danced across the water as they shared laughter, quiet affection, and gentle embraces. Every frame captured not just their love, but the ease and warmth that define them.
As they look toward their wedding day, this session stands as a celebration of everything that brought them here. From laughter-filled beginnings to adventures by the sea, Matteo and Rebecca’s love story is a reminder that home is not a place—it’s a feeling shared between two people who choose each other every day.
