I’m Sarah, the photographer behind Latitude 49 Photography. Based on Vancouver Island, I specialize in cinematic and romantic wedding photography that blends editorial artistry with authentic storytelling. My work captures honest emotion, natural light, and timeless connection for couples who want imagery that feels intentional and deeply personal.

Some weddings feel like coming home—and this one truly did. Set in the groom’s parents’ backyard in Merville, British Columbia, this celebration was the perfect blend of intimacy, laughter, and heartfelt connection. Surrounded by forest, flowers, and their closest loved ones, the couple created a wedding day that felt cozy, intentional, and deeply personal.
From the bride’s romantic puff-sleeve gown and pearl details to the groom’s bolo tie and relaxed style, every element reflected their personalities. Their first look unfolded in a quiet clearing among the trees—a private moment of emotion and soft smiles before the festivities began. It set the tone for a day filled with connection, joy, and authenticity.

Beneath a canopy of blooming wisteria, they exchanged vows in a handfasting ceremony that intertwined tradition and love. As their hands were bound, laughter and tears mingled in the air—the perfect mix of sacred and joyful. When they were pronounced husband and wife, the backyard erupted with cheers, hugs, and happy tears. The love in that space was tangible, wrapping everyone in warmth.
Their wedding cake, crafted by Just Beat It Bakery, was a tiered masterpiece adorned with blush and ivory roses and silver leaf. The moment they shared that first bite was pure tenderness—laughter, soft glances, and quiet joy that spoke volumes.

As the sun set behind the trees, guests gathered beneath a tent filled with candlelight and florals. Heartfelt speeches drew both laughter and tears, and music carried through the evening. It wasn’t a ballroom or grand estate—it was something better. It was home.
Every detail reflected who they are as a couple: joyful, grounded, and deeply connected. Their wedding was proof that love, when celebrated simply and authentically, feels endlessly elegant.
