For couples who want their wedding to feel grounded, effortless, and deeply connected to the place where it happened.
Cinematic composition. Documentary storytelling. Editorial refinement.
Live the Moments You Will Never Forget
Years from now, the photos will not matter because everything looked perfect. They will matter because they bring you back to how it felt. The quiet anticipation before the ceremony. The way your hands trembled slightly while getting ready. Wind moving through the trees along the coastline. The laughter during speeches that caught everyone off guard. The brief pauses between the big moments that would have otherwise been forgotten.
The best photographs do more than document appearances. They preserve atmosphere, movement, emotion, and memory. They remind you not only of what your wedding looked like, but what it felt like to be there. That is what Latitude 49 Photography is built around.
Wedding photography should never take you out of your wedding day.
My approach is calm, observational, and guided when needed. I step in with direction during portraits so nothing feels awkward or overly posed, then step back to allow moments to unfold naturally. The result is imagery that feels relaxed, emotionally honest, and visually refined without feeling performative.
From the anticipation of getting ready to the movement of the dance floor late into the evening, every part of the day is documented with attention to atmosphere, connection, and the experience of being there.
Sarah is a very talented photographer, while also being just incredibly wonderful to be around.

Behind the lens
I am the photographer behind Latitude 49 Photography, based in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.
Living on the island has shaped the way I see and photograph weddings. Coastal weather, shifting light, forest textures, open water, and changing landscapes all influence the atmosphere of my work. I am drawn to imagery that feels immersive and grounded rather than overly polished or staged.
My approach blends documentary storytelling with an editorial eye for composition and light. The goal is to create photographs that feel cinematic, natural, and emotionally true to the experience itself. Whether documenting a quiet coastal elopement or a full wedding celebration surrounded by family and friends, the focus remains the same: preserving moments with honesty, depth, and intention.
A photographer’s guide to creating a wedding day that feels relaxed, well-paced, and beautifully documented.
Inside the guide, you will find advice on timelines, lighting, engagement sessions, location planning, and creating space for genuine moments throughout your wedding day. Built specifically with Vancouver Island weddings in mind, including coastal weather, seasonal light, and how to create a day that flows naturally without feeling rushed.
