I'm Sarah. The person behind the camera. I grew up in a military family, born overseas, have lived in Alberta ( a couple of times), but have been lucky enough to have really grown up right here in the Comox Valley. This is home.
I fell in love with the forests, the lakes, the rivers and the oceans on this island, which is where my photography journey began.
I picked up a camera in 2020 with the goal to photograph all that Vancouver Island has to offer: the wildlife, the sky, it's plants and it's landscapes.
But, I've found myself falling in love with capturing love...
Oh, Hey
...Now, I photograph people. More specifically, people in love. Capturing those genuine interactions between two people in love (or the love of families)?
That's why I do this.
In your session I'll pose you, but the photos you get aren't those posed shots. You'll see the in between moments. The candid laughs, the movement, the emotions. That's what I love and that's what I strive to capture.
It's SO important that you feel at ease with me. My feedback is often that I've made people feel comfortable in front of the camera. If I've done that, then I've succeeded in our session.

My whole world
A few things that I love are coffee, my dogs and my forever person, Brodie.
I was 18 when we met. 18 when we fell in love. At the time that I write this, I have loved him for nearly as long as I haven't. Nearly half my life has been spent with this guy. And what a life we've created.
We have a beautiful home, with two amazing dogs, and to know them is to love them.
I've also been lucky enough to have two amazing parents who support me through everything and some incredible in-laws.
I couldn't imagine a different life, nor would I want to.

...when I'm not behind the scenes of Latitude 49 Photography?
I'm probably reading a good book, snuggling my dogs, or out in the wild.
I spend all of my extended time off (from the 9-5) either camping or on our boat. Out there discovering waterfalls and taking in the night sky.
I also work in our healthcare system, both in private and public as a rehabilitation assistant. My lengthy career (14 years is wild to me) has taught me a number of things but mostly, how important relationships are.
