Hi, I’m Sarah

My journey started as a kid moving around with my military family, living everywhere from overseas to Alberta. But it wasn’t until I put down roots in the stunning Comox Valley that I found my true home. Surrounded by Vancouver Island’s forests, lakes, and oceans, I first picked up a camera in 2020 to capture the raw beauty of this place. What began with landscapes and wildlife quickly grew into a deeper passion—capturing love in all its wild and wonderful forms.

Now, I photograph couples, families, and weddings with the same wonder that drew me to photography in the first place. I believe the best moments are unposed, genuine, and full of connection—whether it’s laughter on a mountaintop, a quiet hug by the ocean, or the everyday magic of simply being together. My goal is to create images that feel alive, freezing those unfiltered emotions so you can relive them forever.

When I’m not behind the lens, I’m soaking up everything this beautiful island has to offer—camping, boating, chasing waterfalls, and stargazing. My love for adventure is matched only by my love for coffee, my two amazing dogs, and my forever person, Brodie. I’ve been in love with him since I was 18, and together we’ve built a life that I wouldn’t trade for the world.
With over 14 years working in healthcare as a rehabilitation assistant, I’ve learned that relationships are everything. That’s what inspires me to capture the real, meaningful connections that make your story uniquely yours. Let’s create something beautiful together that you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

Let’s Start Your Story

In The End, It’s The Memories That Stay With Us Forever.

Latitude 49 Photography was born out of a love for storytelling and the untamed beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I believe that when the day is done, it’s the memories we hold onto that matter most—the stolen glances, the belly laughs, the quiet, meaningful touches that define your unique connection.

BEHIND THE LENS

I was born overseas and grew up in a military family, so I like to think I’ve had adventure in my blood from day one.

Forget picking just one shade—my favourite colour is the forest. The deep greens of moss, the golden light streaming through trees, and the earthy browns of the trails all fill my soul. It’s my ultimate inspiration and happy place.

When I’m not behind the camera, you might find me on a pole. Yep, I’m a pole dancer, and it’s one of my favourite ways to stay strong, confident, and have a blast.

Certified Smut Enthusiast

Give me a smutty fantasy book and I’m gone for hours (or days). Bonus points if it has a broody hero, badass heroine, and a ridiculous amount of tension.

My sense of humor is as dry as a martini, and my sarcasm game is strong. Basically, if we can’t laugh like 12-year-olds together, are we even friends?

I’m the person who’ll snort-laugh mid-conversation or wave at someone who wasn’t actually waving at me. Awkward is my natural habitat, and I’ve learned to fully embrace it.

I trip over air, bump into walls, and drop things daily, but hey, it keeps life interesting. Graceful? Not so much. Entertaining? Always.

Animal Whisperer

Aside from my own two pups, I will absolutely befriend any dog, cat, or random wildlife I come across. The birds that hit my windows are my besties

Sarah was so easy to work with from start to finish.

She is so organized and really listened to what was important to us and planned the shots she took accordingly. She also took the time to research our chosen venue and came up out some really cool photo ideas before we arrived. Sarah made everyone feel comfortable (which includes a husband and a feisty toddler). Because everyone felt so at ease, she was able to capture some truly authentic moments that I absolutely love! I would definitely book Latitude 49 Photography again

I definitely recommend Sarah for your family photo sessions!

Sarah was so lovely to work with, extremely personable and easy going, she made it feel so easy and natural instead of awkward. This isn’t easy with kids and babies included! Plus I’m in love with the photos capturing us doing what we love, playing at the beach! I definitely recommend Sarah for your family photo sessions!
