With help from his cousin, he designed a custom engagement ring, weaving family history into their story. He then recreated their first date at Porteau Cove Pier, following a stop at Britannia Mine. As the ocean stretched before them and the memories of their beginning hung in the air, he knelt down on one knee. Rebecca said yes—tears glimmering as the waves rolled softly against the pier.
