Some love stories begin with a grand gesture, some with a simple hello, and some—like Rayelle and Hans’—with a right swipe. When Rayelle joined Tinder for the first time, she had no idea what to expect. Little did she know that the very first person she’d connect with on the app would end up being her forever. After chatting online, the two decided to meet for a classic beach picnic, and from there, their love story took off.

A Love of Adventure and a Proposal to Match

For Rayelle and Hans, adventure is woven into the fabric of their relationship. From hiking and camping to traveling the world together, these two share a love for exploring new places and experiencing life’s beauty side by side. So it was only fitting that Hans chose a scenic, secluded location to propose.

One morning, the couple hiked up to San Josef Bay, a breathtakingly serene beach on Vancouver Island. As the first rays of sunlight began to break through the clouds, Hans dropped to one knee and asked Rayelle to spend forever with him. Alone on the beach, with nothing but the sound of the waves, Rayelle said yes to a lifetime of adventures together.

Creating Memories Across the Globe

One of the hallmarks of Rayelle and Hans’ relationship is their shared love for travel. After Hans passed his pilot’s exam, the couple embarked on a two-month journey across six different countries. The trip not only brought them closer but solidified their bond as they navigated foreign lands together, never once having an argument or a dull moment. From the bustling streets of Japan to the rolling hills of Europe, each memory they created only strengthened their love.

One memorable moment was in Japan, where they had a bit of a mishap with transportation. Attempting to rent a car, they realized too late that they hadn’t filled out the proper paperwork. What ensued was a hilariously chaotic journey to reach their remote hotel, complete with a taxi driver who took them in circles. At the time, it was stressful, but looking back, they laugh about it—a memory that perfectly encapsulates their easygoing, resilient love.

Simple Pleasures and Timeless Traditions

Back home, Rayelle and Hans keep their life balanced between adventure and the simple joys of everyday life. They’re both avid hikers and love nothing more than a weekend camping trip or a cozy movie day on the couch with their beloved dogs. From canning and cooking together to trying out new foods at local spots, they embrace every little moment they share.

Their shared love for music means they never miss an opportunity to catch a concert, and when it comes to unwinding, they’re just as happy on a quiet day at the lake or beach.

Like every couple, Rayelle and Hans have their quirks. Rayelle is an avid reader and could happily spend hours getting lost in a book, while Hans doesn’t share the same enthusiasm for reading. It’s become a running joke between them, a lighthearted reminder of their different personalities that adds a touch of playfulness to their relationship.

Their Perfect Morning Session

For their engagement session, Rayelle and Hans wanted a location that reflected their love for nature and adventure. The morning light added a soft glow to their photos, capturing their playful, relaxed energy. From tender moments to laughs shared in the truck Hans used to pick Rayelle up for their first date, every shot tells a piece of their story. And, of course, we incorporated Hans’ beloved “old man jacket,” a touch of rustic style that fits their down-to-earth personalities perfectly.
