Some of the most beautiful moments in life happen when you keep things simple.
That’s exactly what I wanted for this sweet motherhood mini session — no studio lights, no elaborate setups, just a mother and her baby wrapped in the kind of love that only the early days of motherhood can bring.
This particular session took place right in my own front yard, surrounded by towering trees and soft afternoon light. It was relaxed, tender, and completely unposed — the kind of session that reminds me why I adore photographing motherhood.
The Beauty of Simplicity
There’s something truly special about those early days with a newborn. The sleepy smiles, the tiny fingers, the quiet moments of connection in between. It’s messy and magical all at once — a season that passes far too quickly.
When I planned this mini session, my goal was to create an experience that felt effortless and genuine. No rushing, no forcing moments, just a mom soaking in the joy of her little one. We let the session unfold naturally, and it turned into something beautiful.
Barefoot steps on the grass, soft laughter, and tender cuddles bathed in golden light — every moment felt real, unfiltered, and full of heart.
There is a quiet power in photographing the connection between a mother and her child. On May 3rd, I am opening a handful of Motherhood Mini Sessions right here at my home in the Comox Valley — a space surrounded by nature and warmth.
These sessions are designed to be easy and relaxed. No studio pressure, no complicated posing. Just you, your little one, and a space where love can unfold naturally.
It’s the perfect opportunity to capture the fleeting details of this season of life — the way your baby fits perfectly in your arms, the laughter that bubbles up unexpectedly, the peace in simply being together.
You don’t need a milestone or a special occasion to document your journey through motherhood. The quiet, everyday moments are often the ones that matter most — the soft hugs, the shared smiles, the rhythm of your love story as it grows.
Whether you choose a full session or one of these heartfelt minis, my goal is always the same: to create photographs that feel timeless, authentic, and full of emotion.
If this sounds like your kind of magic, I would love to have you join me on May 3rd for my Motherhood Mini Sessions.
