I’m Sarah, the photographer behind Latitude 49 Photography. Based on Vancouver Island, I specialize in cinematic and romantic wedding photography that blends editorial artistry with authentic storytelling. My work captures honest emotion, natural light, and timeless connection for couples who want imagery that feels intentional and deeply personal.

Your wedding day passes in a joyful blur of emotion, celebration, and connection. When it ends, it is natural to feel excited to see your photos. The anticipation is real and your gallery means so much. But luxury wedding galleries are not created quickly. They are created carefully. Here is why the wait is part of the artistry.
On your wedding day I document everything that matters. Candid emotion, classic portraits, subtle details, and fleeting in between moments. I overshoot because I want your gallery to feel complete. Later those thousands of images must be sorted through intentionally, which takes time and care.
The day after your wedding I begin culling. I use Aftershoot to begin the process and then refine the selections manually. I want the gallery to feel alive, cohesive, and rich with storytelling. Choosing the right images takes time and intention because every moment matters.
Editing is where much of the work happens. I use a trained preset as a consistent foundation, but every image is individually refined by hand. Next, I mask subjects, adjust gradients for light, correct tones, blend colours, remove distractions, and enhance anything that helps the photo feel more like the moment itself.
I edit in small batches to protect my eyes and to ensure the quality of the work never slips. This approach adds time but elevates the final result.
Once the colour edits are complete, I export a full set and run each image through a final round of detail work in Photoshop. Then everything is reimported to create the black and white versions. Each image is crafted twice so your gallery feels complete, cohesive, and timeless.
After editing comes curation. I organize everything in a way that reflects the emotional flow of your day. Your gallery is arranged with intention, guiding you through the story moment by moment so you can relive the experience in a meaningful way.
Luxury photography is never rushed. Each image requires time, care, and a steady hand. The process takes weeks because it protects the quality and emotional depth of your story. My official turnaround time is twelve weeks although most galleries arrive within six to eight. Sneak peeks arrive within seventy two hours so you can enjoy a glimpse while your full story is being crafted.
When your gallery arrives I want you to feel everything again. The emotion, the connection, the laughter, the quiet, and the celebration. Beautiful things take time and your photos deserve nothing less. To learn more about how I capture and create wedding stories you can explore my workflow or visit my wedding collections page.
